Vertical Blind Fitting Instructions
PLEASE READ THESE INSTUCTIONS BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO FIT YOUR BLIND
Step 1- Fitting the brackets
Top Fix Brackets
Fix brackets to ceiling or lintel with holes drilled on a line, at least 3" (75mm) from any projection (eg handles etc) or wall or frame. This is for blinds with 5" (127mm) louvers.
For blinds with 3½" (89mm) louvers measure 2¼ (55mm) away from any projection. End brackets should be 1½" (38mm) from the ends of the track. Any remaining brackets should be spaced out evenly between these brackets.
If your blind has a pelmet refer to pelmet instructions before proceeding any further Face Fix Brackets
These brackets are pictured on the left, other types are also available (sold as a option). Fitting to the wall or the window frame as closely as possible to ceiling or lintel. Same spacing as for top fix brackets
Step 2 - Fitting The Track
Track must be fitted into brackets keeping controls to side ordered. Locate the small lip projecting from brackets into groove in track. Push track up into brackets. Spring clips brackets will hold your track without further adjustment. If your brackets have retaining screws these should now be screwed into the other slot on the track. (Do not over tighten the screws. This is unnecessary and will damage the track). Remove packing material from track releasing the cord and chain. (Cord control traverses the louvers and the chain rotates them).
Step 3 - Hanging Your Louvres

Before attempting to hang the louvers, hooks must be turned to 90º (sideways) by pulling the side chain, (as pictured). If this operation is not done now and the louvers are hung onto the track with the hooks in the flat position the louvers will not rotate.
Hang louvers keeping all seams one way. Unpack chains from plastic weight, insert that weight into the louver with one missing. Attach "C" clip on chains to lug on weights on a one way draw attach one chain at the front and one at the back Split draw blinds have two at the front and two at the back and one chains covers half the blind at a time.
Fitting the Pelmet
N.B. Pelmet brackets must be fitted before track is fitted in position.
One pelmet bracket should be fitted at each end of track. Any remaining pelmet brackets should be spaced out evenly between these brackets.
The "U" shaped end and loose plate locate in grooves in track. Tighten bracket screws. Fit track as previously described and hang louvers. Fix bar to pelmet bracket as illustrated. Position pelmet on bar ensuring it is central straight and wrinkle free. |
